Harvard Lanes offers 14 classic lanes, smaller candlepin balls that are approachable for beginners, café seating, food and drinks, plus a small free arcade and eight pinball machines. Reserve as many lanes as your group needs, subject to availability.
We host group events for people from Harvard, Ayer, Devens, Littleton, Boxborough, Lancaster and nearby Central Massachusetts communities.

Group Event FAQs
What kinds of group events can we hold at Harvard Lanes?
Harvard Lanes hosts adult birthdays, family gatherings, wedding-party events, reunions, milestone celebrations, company outings, fundraisers and other group occasions.
How many bowling lanes can our group reserve?
Harvard Lanes has 14 candlepin lanes. The number available for your event depends on the date, time and other reservations.
Is candlepin bowling suitable for beginners and mixed ages?
Yes. Candlepin uses smaller balls, making it approachable for first-time bowlers and mixed-age groups. Bumpers and roll assists are also available when helpful.
Are food and drinks available?
Booked events may bring outside food or catering. The café also offers food and drinks, and alcoholic beverages must be purchased from Harvard Lanes.
Will our event be private?
A regular event includes reserved lanes and exclusive use of the back seating area, but other customers may be in the building. Choose a full-house rental when you need exclusive use of the entire property.
How is group-event pricing determined?
Non-private events are generally $20 per attendee for two hours, plus $5 per attendee per additional hour. Full-house private rentals are $450 per hour for up to 60 guests, plus $20 per attendee above 60. Submit the event form for availability and a final quote.
How do we start planning?
Complete the event form or email hello@harvardlanescandlepin.com with your date, guest estimate and the occasion you are planning. Organizers can generally arrive about 30 minutes early. We typically confirm the final headcount a few days before the event, and payment is due on event day by card or check. If you only need bowling without reserved gathering space or outside food, reserve lanes online instead.
